THE OLD BUILDING OF MODERNIST ARCHITECTURE, BUILT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR USED TO BE A HOTEL FOR A LONG TIME, BUT WAS LATER TURNED INTO THE HOME OF THE YUGOSLAV NATIONAL ARMY. AFTER 1990, AT THE LEGENDARY SPLIT ADDRESS OF MATEJUŠKA, THE BUILDING WAS LEFT TO DECAY FOR A LONG TIME. HOWEVER, AT THE END OF 2000 IT WAS DEMOLISHED, AND THANKS TO A GOOD DECISION OF THE CITY AUTHORITIES, IT WAS RETURNED TO ITS ORIGINAL HOTEL PURPOSE.

A new hotel boasting extraordinary architecture is now a new decoration of Split, especially its western coast. A modern building with an airy facade in the form of a vertical grid was built next to the sea, blending successfully into the setting of the city’s port.

In terms of interior design, everything is imbued with luxury. Highly functional designer furniture both in the rooms and in other multi-purpose premises fully justifies its five stars.

The swimming pool, raised above the sea, and especially the rooftop terrace, are unique spaces to enjoy. The terrace offers the enchanting views of the entire Diocletian’s city; all its neighbourhoods that have expanded over the last hundred years, as well as the beautiful wooded Marijan hill (another mythical sight in the city). An excellent example of how the modern can blend well with the historical layers of urban development.
